How to use this Ideal Reader Template:
 
RESEARCH your readers. Find them on social media, re-read your fan mail and reviews, and talk to other authors in your genre. Look for clues that tell you who they are as people, and figure out who is going to love your books the most and what makes them special!
REPLACE the information. Remove the sample images and text and replace with ones that are best for YOUR readers. I mean it! Don't just change a few of the words and call it a day. This is about getting to know your readers and building empathy for them. This is the person you are going to picture in your mind curling up in a chair (or a hammock or a bus seat) and reading YOUR book! They are your new best friend. Treat them with love, respect, and care!
REVISE as needed. This is a living document. That means you will learn more about your readers as your author career proceeds. Update this document as your career changes. Create additional personas -- have Primary, Secondary, and Stretch Goal readers!
 
This template is only as valuable as you make it, so treat it like your stories, and HAVE FUN!
